The New York State ESGR is an all volunteer committee of business, community and military leaders who assist and support our National Guard & Reserve force. The committee is sponsored by the Department of Defense. Its goal is to strengthen relations between members of the National Guard & Reserves and their civilian employers, both private and public.
The State's ESGR committee encourages employers to become advocates for a volunteer military force, a rich tradition in our nation. To achieve this, the State's ESGR committee:
Provides ombudsman services for USERRA issue to both employers and employees at no cost to either
Offers programs such as "Briefings for the Boss" and "BossLifts" to inform employers of the work and training of the employees in the National Guard & Reserve
Informs employer and community members about personnel policies and practices to encourage employers to support National Guard & Reserve programs
And presents awards and recognition activities to employers, both public and private
